Next Generation IPODs - Yummy!

The ipods are out and if you di not get yours, what are you waiting for?

I checked out only two of the three new pods that came out; the new nano and the itouch.

The nano is more thinner than the last one and now you can watch video on it, too. With its small, wide screen you can watch short clips as well as listen to your music. It comes in 4gb and a 8gb model, you may want to choose what you want on these colorful music machine.

The itouch, or I like to call the "Iphone lite" gives you everything you want except the phone part. With an 8gb and 16gb models out, its best to max out to 16gb. When outside, you will have to seach for a hot spot to surf the web and buy music with the built in itunes or watch YouTube shows.

The ipod classic, with 80gb and 160gb capacity can be the ultimate player on the market right now. Maybe later, I might just break the bank and treat myself with a 160gb pod.

iphone - i'm sorry

When the iphone came out and the craze came out for it, I was looking at the "bad side" of the phone. Maybe it was so much of the hype that made me put those comments down. I read the payment option more in depth and thought about the usage more clearly, it will be a great tech device.

I still will hold the fact that more space is needed, the memory slots, I must admit it may sound far-fetched, you may want to think about the future when the iphone completely crash such as hadr drive failure. Maybe the memory slots can save some of your data from the phone. I hoping that itunes has a way of backing up major data and bookmarks in case of some emergency that you need to restore it back to normal.

The battery life, integrated keyboard and the casing I was wrong about it. But it is new to the market and I still would like to wait for the 2nd series of iphone to come out.

iphone-idon't think so.

With all the hype for the iphone and the service plan from the phone provider, the iphone is just some tech luxury. With 4gb or 8gb iphone, you may not have not enough room for movies, music, photos and contacts. The plan they set up is a little too much for up to 2 years.

I will wait for the next iphone when it has the following:
  • Longer battery life
  • larger internal memory
  • Sturdier and scratch resistance casing
  • External connection (keyboard, external memory slots)

Sarfari is out for Firefox

When I heard that Sarfari from Apple making it way to the Windows' platform, I must admit that this  browser would be out of its elements. After downloading it and launch the browser, it appeared to be a threat to Firefox. At first glance, it looks like Apple Itunes and the window is gray.

The good things I see with Sarfari:
  1. The loading of website a little bit faster than Firefox and IE7.
  2. It is non intrusive about being the default browser
  3. Very clear on email client such as Excite and Yahoo
  4. Instant downloading
The bad things I see with Sarfari:
  1. When downloading, you can not turn off the download manager. If you go to a "bad" website and they might ask you to download the applet to "make the surfing better". Sarfari might be downloading things you do not want.
  2. The appearace of the browser need to be different. Hey, I use Itunes but I don't want to see it all the time as my browser.
  3. When going to web pages with Windows Media Player streamming content, it don't want to play the video and shows the old media player from Windows 95.
Apple, to be the best browser, you must endure the worst things like embedding Windows Plug-in that are up to date and letting the user pick where to place the downloads.
Overall, Firefox and Internet Explorer users, there is a new browser looking to take over the world of Windows. It's Sarfari and it is begining the hunt!

When Tech goes bad!

We all had a moment when our tech gear just gives up or breakdown at a crucial point to make you said, "S**t, I still have my documents on that flash drive!" or "My notebook died at that presentation, D**n!!!"

It just reminded me that our computer, cell phone or even a steammer can blow up in your face. I had a monitor just blow up, not set on fire, in my face and it was just three months old.

So to all of the tech savy people and the newbies just getting their computers, be warned that even technology can go bad.

Vista or XP? What is the Answer?

Windows Vista made a excellent debut for the beginning of the year and I got to see this OS at work in a retail store.

The "glassy look" of Vista might be a special treat that the "Fisher Price" look of XP. Vista added more "toys" to use such as a DVD authoring program and Texas Hold em. I still going to use XP for a little while longer.

To make the move from XP to Vista sounds easy, but with all the hardware updates, CPU specs and memory acceleration, I am happy with XP for now. When it is time for me to go to Vista, the newest OS will out.
